I also don't think there'd be much argument at all if after those first four rounds, Sliva knocked Sonnen out with a kick to the face, or an elbow to wherever. It would have been considered a done deal. Just like Ali won in Zaire. Silva won that first fight period.

Sonnen simply told the commission on the prefight paper work instead of having everything processed through. He's kinda dumb for not doing things properly but he's not typically what anyone would consider a "juicer", hell the damn dude is even that big. Also this fight was in no way close, chael knew what he'd have to do and what storm he'd have to weather to win this and he did his game plan, silva had to have been aware of sonnens weakness in submission defense, the triangle choke is sonnens damn Achilles heel.

Close??!! There was nothing close about this fight. I remember all the crap that came spewing out of Sonnen's mouth in his interviews. Sonnen believed that Silva couldn't take his punches. I also remember Sonnen questioning Silva's Ju-Jitsu status or capabilities. Well wouldn't you know it, Silva took every punch, and each punch was decent. Then in typical Silva fashion and to add a little f#@k you to everyone who was for Sonnen, what does Silva do? Silva uses the very skill that Sonnen put to question. Silva is a master. A rather bad one as far as ego is concerned but he is a master. Sonnen is but a child. This match was not close in any way, shape, or form, it was the further testimony to the skill of a master. Suck it down!
Yes, A true master chooses to lay on the ground and take punches from children for four and 1/2 rounds.
I don't get it?why this fight put doubts on Silva's skills?taking punches is as important as dodging them,defending when you're on your back is as important as being able to do ground and pound when you're on top.Sonnen is good, i'll give you that especially his fight with Stann and he has all the right to ask Silva for a rematch but he better be careful.Silva isn't that kind of fighter who stays at a certain level, he learns from his mistakes.and saying something about his wife is not the best thing one should do when you want a fight with Silva, or anyone else.

Whoever put down that this was a close fight cannot be serious. Sonnen was in control from the beginning. 2 more minutes and there would have been a new champion. I can't wait for the rematch
